GENERAL UNDERSTANDING OF LEATHER

Love the elegance of leather sofa? We do too! But shopping for one can be confusing due to the leather terminologies.

No need to fret!  We're here to help you understand all about leather so that you'll have a better understanding of what suits you best.

Here’s the line-up of content coming your way!

CONTENT LINE UP:

  1. General understanding of leather.

  2. Leather Grades – Full Grain, Top Grain, Split Grain, Bonded leather.

  3. Leather Treatments – Aniline, Semi Aniline, Corrected and Pigmented.

  4. Choosing the right leather for your needs.

  5. How to tell if leather is genuine.

For starters, here’s a quick read to help you get a general understanding of leather.

Understand that since leather is a natural product, it won’t be perfect. Natural characteristics such as markings, subtle shadings (grain and texture variations), wrinkles, pores, healed scarring, stretch marks and slight colour differences are expected. These are signs of authentic leather, not manufacturing defects.

Here are the various natural leather markings you can expect from genuine leather.
